About Our School

About Our School

Golden Meadow Upper Elementary is a rural school in Golden Meadow, Louisiana. The school opened in 1962. We have approximately 210 students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th  grades. Golden Meadow Lower Elementary is our feeder school and Golden Meadow Middle School is the school we send our students to at the end of 5th grade. At Golden Meadow Upper Elementary we have a cooperative relationship with our community and local businesses. Our mission is “GMUES will prepare all students for academic success.” We strive to meet the needs of all students through different programs such as: Accelerated Reader, Accelerated Math, Kid Biz, and other programs developed to meet the individual needs of students. Through our Positive Behavior Incentive Support program we recognize and reward those students who exhibit proper behavior, complete home learning assignments, and attend school. We have a hard working, dedicated staff who believe in the philosophy “children first.”
